Milford Zoom meeting report

17th April 2021

Write up by Jane Bennett

We managed a Zoom meeting!!! Although booked in November 2020, the death of Prince Philip, determined our April meeting may not be possible, due to his funeral. With the positive that there are now many regional meetings using Zoom, moving the date wasn’t an option. As soon as the detail of the Royal event was known, the timing of the meeting was changed. Consequently, we only had an hour but there were fifteen of us, including someone new to the group. She shared details of managing her son’s life and the difficulties dealing with support agencies, which others understood, empathised with and consequently, were able to suggest alternatives.

Keeping fit, being active combined with socialising is a great aspiration. Brooke shared his experiences of Wheels for Wellbeing (https://wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/). Brooke has written a front page piece for the Newslink, but this was the opportunity for sharing and people to ask questions.

This was a good example of ‘quality not quantity’. Many thanks to all of you who shared the Zoom meeting and hoping to meet you, plus those we didn’t see, later in the year in Milford. Fingers crossed!!
