Milford afternoon tea

Hello everyone,

At our April meeting, Tel Martin will be joining us. The title of his talk is ‘Planning for Your Future‘. As you will see from his descriptor below, he is covering many aspects of what should be considered as we get older. Could be there are some aspects that our younger members would benefit from considering? We’ll see on Saturday April 6th when Tel joins us. The information Tel is aiming for us to take away contains area specific contacts. He would appreciate knowing which areas people are travelling from. GDPR is respected as all I am asking is for you to say, for example, Farnham, Surrey. Tel needs this information as soon as possible. Please email me if you are able to join us and your area update by Friday March 29th.

If you are unable you attend, but would like a copy of the information, please let me know.

As we are in spring, we’ll be at The Clockhouse, Chapel Lane, Milford, Surrey GU8 5EZ, from 3pm until 6pm. The first hour will be for carer’s to have time and social, catching up time for others, Tel will have the middle hour, with refreshments and raffle in the last hour.

Hoping to see you in April. Have an enjoyable Easter weekend.

Best wishes,

Michael and Jane xx

Tel Martin is an adviser with Age UK Surrey and is currently working with his colleague Bev Shaw and Surrey County Council Adult Social Care team on a project called Planning For Your Future, which will form the basis of the presentation.

The project aims to raise awareness of the importance of planning for future care needs, understanding the cost of social care and connecting people to local support. We hope to encourage people to have early conversations about their future, what matters to them, support options, financial planning and help prevent them having to make decisions at times of crisis.

The aim of the talk is to help people understand the different options available, how to connect to support locally and how they can stay as independent as possible and live the lives they want to, as far as they can.

We want to help ensure that everyone accessing care and support for themselves or others, can access information at the right time and place to make informed decisions.

Overall, we hope to improve peoples confidence to navigate the local health and social care environment which is complex. Many people are not aware of what services are available, who provides them and how to access them. We aim to make this easier.

The event is finished.

I would like to attend this event with my parents. I’m a member of The hereditary spastic paraplegia support group.
I do have the condition myself.
