Milford Meeting Report

6th October 2024

Meeting report by Jane and Mike

We are always very pleased to welcome all those who make the journey to Milford, and a special thank you to those that offer to car share.

We were especially pleased to welcome seven new people. Hearing all the conversation and laughter was a positive sign that everyone was enjoying and sharing the social time. We are very grateful to all our long-standing Milford guests for making our newcomers welcome.

As happens, we were sorry that sixteen people were not able to join us. Circumstance such as Junction 10 on the M25 being closed, having all important covid jabs, plus the fun opportunity of being on holiday contributed to those not making the journey to Milford. We are always thankful to everyone keeping in contact.

Following the carers, family and friends having time together, we all came together for a fun Sunday afternoon activity. We were joined by Diana Rang, who runs ‘Paracise’ (www.paracise.com) and ‘Wobble’ exercise classes (www.wobbleclasses.com). Diana specialises in activities focused for those who find regular fitness exercises too demanding. The ‘Wobble’ ones are seated exercises. The selection of activities, with music to help us, were possible for both those who could stand and those who were seated, either in a chair or wheelchair. We were pleasantly surprised that most people joined in. One person saying, ‘I didn’t think I’d enjoy it, but I did.’

With the aid of light refreshments, there was more conversation, some involving everyone. One topic was the AGM. Understandably, all those who enjoy face-to face- meetings and are able to travel have missed going to AGM’s. The Zoom AGM’s benefit those that can’t travel, but sharing time with others in person is very beneficial.

We’re looking forward to catching up with everyone again on Saturday April 5th from 3pm until 6pm. We have a later start in April as the lighter evenings make the journey home easier for everyone.

Best wishes Mike & Jane
