Format of meeting:
We generally have a round-the-room where we introduce ourselves, mention their relationship with HSP and cover any updates followed by general nattering. We invite attendees to talk about anything they’d like, which includes a recent talk and show on Mollii suits, as an example. Sometimes, not everyone is comfortable to speak and Tom the meeting coordinator makes sure that those people don’t feel put on the spot and can just listen in. The meeting is a friendly, warm and welcoming environment where our members meet to catch up, compare experiences, and sometimes have a good grumble. We have a whatsapp group which also makes it easy for people to chat and support each other.
Some of us bring our kids along and we organise a trip out to the local park while the meeting goes on, otherwise we just bring along a few things to keep them occupied. The young ones will likely hear things about HSP and we check to ensure that the parent/guardian is happy for them to be around.
